WHY WE EXIST
Three out of four people don't hydrate enough, making us prone to lethargy, irritability, muscle cramps, and headaches. Water is roughly 2/3 of our bodies. Every cell and every muscle fiber operate at peak performance when we are hydrated.
But most of us don't drink enough fluids because:
- We don't like the taste of plain water
- We don't want to drink excessive calories with sweetened drinks
- We have tried the zero calorie drinks sweetened with sugar substitutes and we can't stand the taste or what it does to our system
WHAT WE ARE
Skëdagø is an electrolyte drink powder that turns the water your body needs into the water your body wants. We provide an all-natural hydration solution with premium ingredients and the electrolytes sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. The electrolytes are like little guideposts, which make sure the water gets where it's supposed to go.
We are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, non-GMO, and vegan. Skëdagø makes your water taste so good, without any of the highly processed stuff you know shouldn't be there, that eight glasses a day will seem like nothing at all.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
You've raised the bar. You no longer accept misinformation, half-truths, and smoke and mirrors. You investigate.
You know that the further something is taken from its source, the more it is altered and stripped of the nutrients the earth imparted to it, the more of a sham it is. Like Stevia, for example. You know that the natural stevia leaf is world's away from the Stevia that makes its way into our products - processed by chemical reactions, bleached, and altered.
The closer to the source an ingredient is, the more "real" it is, and the more it has to offer you. Because mother nature doesn't half-ass it.
You value your body too much to succumb to industry lingo. Calling something organic, which is, in fact, synthetic, but from an organic source is misleading. For example, organic maltodextrin or dextrose, which are both derived from corn. But the volume of information is so plentiful that it is easy to capitalize on confusion when all you want is clarity.
You don't want to consume "agents" - anti-clumping, dispersing, and carrier agents. Because these agents are not real ingredients and do not belong inside your body.
WHAT WE DO
Skëdagø replaced all of the excessive refined sugar with minimal, close-to-the-source organic, raw cane sugar. This adds just enough sweetness while avoiding the highly processed sugar substitutes such as erythritol or Stevia, or the corn-derived sugar masqueraders such as dextrose and maltodextrin.
You will never see the nebulous word “natural flavors” on our ingredients list. You will see premium ingredients you deserve - like organic black tea powder, organic maqui berry powder, and pink Himalayan sea salt.
Because a hydrated you is an unstoppable you. The world won't know what hit it. Lethargy, irritability, muscle cramps, and headaches will be a thing of the past.
So go ahead, raise the bar. We applaud you and will strive to keep up.
WHERE WE CAME FROM
Skëdagø founder and creator Dr. Becky Peterson is a Stanford Medical School graduate and Neuroradiologist who trained at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mass General Hospital in Boston. As a physician, runner, and mother of three boys, promoting health and wellness in her personal and professional life has always been a priority.
After years of practicing medicine, Becky decided to focus on her love of health and wellness and begin a new venture. She was uninspired by the available options to add flavor and electrolytes to her water bottle. She couldn't find any without corn-derived, processed ingredients such as dextrose and maltodextrin, or with low sugar that didn't contain Stevia or other sugar substitutes. She just wanted clean (truly clean), natural (truly natural) ingredients - no additives. So Skëdagø was born.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Becky has always enjoyed outdoor and active pursuits, most notably long-distance and trail running. She has completed three marathons, two at Big Sur along the stunning California coastline, and one on Vancouver Island. She currently resides in Northern New Jersey with her husband, three boys, and their Labrador Tyler.
